Why finish a project when you can start any one of the 100 project ideas you thought of while working on the first one? If it wasn't for "the incident," the 24 hour ultimatum actually might have triggered some hyperfocus to get the back of the base done.
I relate as well, I have at least 3 major ongoing Lego projects that are perpetually in progress so I can focus on multiple smaller ones that I do finish but keep going back to improve on them. The only way I’ll get one of my major projects done is if I decide to break it up into smaller ones because creating an industrial area is perfect for that, my “behemoth” project not so much because it’s a vehicle.
Also my projects that are done become junkyards with the pieces for other projects for “easy” access that is the Lego equivalent of chest monsters because my attempts of sorting the pieces out, while easy to find the pieces, requires me to go through thousands of dollars worth of legos and I’ve only gotten through maybe a hundred worth of it and sometimes when I’m done working on a project for the day I don’t sort them again
