Doc’s “motivational messages” actually motivating them to do it because it builds them with rage is hilarious
Because it *BUILDS* them with rage XD
😂 omg so true, the quote backfired and actually did the opposite of what Doc was making it to do intentionally.
Spite is the greatest motivator
builds them with rage is hilarious, 10/10
It also aligns perfectly with one of the lines. In the Goat's world, you're just live in it. But they live above it, and now they LITERALLY live above it.
Docs announcements were by far the most dystopian thing I’ve seen come out from a Minecraft video. Genuinely terrifying 1984 stuff
THATS WHAT I WAS THINKING!!!!! BIG ASS 1984 ENERGY
It actually creeps me out
DUDE I WAS SEEING IF SOMEONE HAD SAID THAT OR IF I HAD TO
Doc himself is 1984 ENERGY and im all up for it!
welcome to city 17
Grian said they have spent about 20 hours covering the perimeter.
Which is about 1,200 minutes.
And a minecraft day is 20 minutes.
So Grian and the buttercups have listened to Doc's morning and night motivational speech for about 120 times.
Exept that other people on the server probably slept. So maybe up to double that
Edit:I realised you had accounted for that
plus the ones that go off randomly...
Pain
assuming that they sleep relatively quickly, lets assume its only 10 minutes per day (11 or 12 would be better but i dont wanna do the math) so they actually listen to it roughly 240 times id say
Regardless they listened to it a lot, and we watch adults play block game for a living as a hobby and we use math too
Things the hermits have all worked together on
1) building a base extending to the height limit on the empires smp
2) covering hole
i love this realization T T
and hermitopia!!
@@user-xn2uh8yo1w that's Kerosiin's first item on the list
Grian! You have to now convince Scar to build a massive panda sanctuary over the perimeter! They are a protected species, Doc will have no choice but to keep the terraforming restoration!
Yes!
How about a goat sanctuary. Then docs really gonna have tomorrow it
YESSS!!! I AM REPLYING TO THIS COMMENT TO BOOST THIS ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
That's a great idea!
Yeppers!
The fact even Iskall logged in to help out is awesome.
Grian: Finishing a base is HARD!
Also Grian: Lets place 250,000 blocks to get back at doc

“Normally, if given the choice between doing something and nothing, I'd choose to do nothing. But I will do something if it helps someone else do nothing. I'd work all night if it meant nothing got done.” -Ron Swanson
In the words of Doc: "Your incompetence is your greatest power!"
That is THIS summed up in an entire episode. I couldn't stop laughing. Just the idea of seeing Doc's face when he comes back. 🤣
If he blows it up, he is risking TNT falling into the hole.
@@Is_This_A_Handle_Thing He could do a flying machine, the only part he would have to do manually is the trees and around the tower area.
All in all a pretty tame prank and smaller clean up time compared to Doc's dragon eggs or Grian's chickens.
But this was a fun prank war they put on for our entertainment. Got a lot of good laughs, especially seeing Doc wearing HALF of a Sniffer outfit. The return of the hippie outfits was also stellar.
We all have to remember everyone on the server is friends and all Hermits tell us to be chill. So let's remember to "Live Laugh Love" this away.
Edit to add: Stay safe! Stay hydrated! And hope you have a lovely day/night. And if not? I hope it gets better!
ok
I'm calling it now: Doc's next episode is called "One-Up Buttercup" and whatever he does is beyond a mere mortal's imagination.
Docs next episode is going to be the Season Ending Event
@@americankid7782a cataclysm beyond mortal mindes
Watch him somehow put their bases in holes 🤣
Okay but does anyone else want a 14 hr podcast that’s just the audio of them doing this?
Absoloutely
Yes.
With the perimeter messages right
everyone
I love to imagine how confused Doc would be if he logged on and thought the chunks reset or something
(don’t come at me idk this technical minecraft stuff)
@@acernis7932i was about to say, dw i won't
The sheep thing is from when Zedaph and Tango bred/grew a sheep in midair without it ever touching the ground. The sheep is still hanging at Tango's base.
That is both hilarious and incredibly morbid 😅😂
Grian took Doc’s “did you grind enough today” very personally.
i feel like grian may have done enough grinding today
The answer is ALWAYS you could have done more, so no he did not grind enough
True 😂😂😂
@@smeechee5246 🤣🤣
@@smeechee5246I mean I was imagining they will actually fill the whole perimeter with dirt not only the top of it lmao
The sheer amount of effort to complete this prank is amazing.... this should get recognized as the biggest prank of Hermitcraft and even Minecraft history
I wouldn't call it the biggest, because I've seen a youtuber (not on hermitcraft) fill up spawn on an smp with chickens, and he even kept going. He just didn't stop.
or one of those templates for a base project done with color wool
Unfortunately, as expected, the prank was barely an inconvenience for Doc.
It took him minimal effort to clean up thanks to flying machines. As expected. So all in all, Doc got the last laugh on this one.
They should have added a village with path blocks, farms, blacksmith, bell, everything somewhere on the reclaimed perimeter.
Nah.
@@am_NeinYeah.
Indubitably
But of course
As a builder the fact that they actually went through with this gives me mad respect for them
😂 If Doc’s smart, he’ll just accept it. He’s been struggling with the idea of having to decorate the perimeter walls. 😂
Dude, you've just covered 15,635 chunks with only 7 - 10 players over the span of 2 days. That is a feat in it's own right, I congratulate you all
Iskal: I’m quite burned out with vanilla minecraft. Might take some time off from HC
Grian: Hey, do any of you wanna spend hours placing dirt over some big hole?
Iskal: You son of a gun, I’m in
The fact this comment got a proper laugh from me 😂😂
Obviously!
Well if he's in... I'm in.
@@cojec Well if he's in, he's in.
If someone says prank or pvp I'm in
Hearing that Iskall joined to help out. I missed seeing him on the server. Glad to know it’s possible to see him again in the future.
everyone coming together for this silly HUGE project is honestly amazing. i'm so warmed by groups of friends coming together for one objective, no matter how silly. makes me very happy
Covering the perimeter was probably the most satisfying and beautiful timelapse I’ve seen
In Poland, we have a saying "gdyby kózka nie skakała to by nóki nie zamała," which roughly translates to "If the goat hadn't jumped, it wouldn't have broken its leg" and I think this is the best thing to describe the whole situation.
9:39 I love how grian and mumbo go through 20 different names for toilets and scar finally realized and said 'oh you mean the can'
The buttercup campsite crater is now a bigger hole than the perimeter...
Shower thoughts...😂
Hah! That’s rough all around
For like 3 hours until doc sees the vid and blows it all up again
Ha, take that TNT to your campsite! Don't forget to fill in the hole, btw.
Thanks for the reminder, we'll do that right away.
i think Doc can call it the underworld now, looks kinda cool tbh
In case anyone was wondering: The sheep in the sky was for a custom Zedvancement, where he had to breed a baby in the air and fly it around until it grew up.
25:06 Scars head was blocking the hole so it just looked like Mumbo flew through the ground and I died
They should make a world backup for download for people to see because doc is probably just going to blow it all up.
Is anyone else willing to bet that doc will actually love the terrain and start building on top of it?
Grian: This is Doc's world, we just live in it.
Doc: Patents it.
Also Doc: Did you grind enough today?
Also Grian: Takes it seriously.
Yep, subliminal messaging is working perfectly.
I wonder if Grian even remembers having said this. Doesn't seem like he got the reference 🤣
@@LRM12o8 I bet he forgot lol
The multiple biomes of the perimeter actually make it look really cool
Grain: "I dont really like undoing work"
Also Grian: "It would be a funny prank if we undid the entire perimeter"
Mumbo: "My entire base has got to go"
Grian said "big pick energy" and then decided that it probably wasn't the best idea, but I would really like to appreciate "big pickaxe energy" staying in the intro
can we just appreciate that one block hole that's still somewhere in the perimeter plains because grian forgot to place a grass block over it?
Perfect!
And seeing the hermits coming to help, that's just wonderful.
Now we wait for Doc's answer, and Grian's "You know what? I wasn't done!" episode.
Thank you!
I love how grian's promise of just "messing with doc" managed to convince Seven other people to join
And convinced Iskall to log in after awhile lol
Don't forget Etho LOL
Nothing brings hermits together like the opportunity to mess with other hermits
Wasn't just 7 with iskall and etho but there were probably more that they didn't mention when grian says a hermitcraft meeting that's literally most of the time that's over half the server so you'd expect half the server to actually joined I can confirm this cuz they mentioned X provided some saplings and bone meal so he was there too probably with other hermits
Included Rendog of all people.
I absolutely loved the return to nature for the Perimeter! :D
An idea for what to do about the ring in front of Scarland: What if you moved the ring about 10-15 blocks further away and made it bigger (so the center matches the center of Scarland)? Maybe "bury" it a bit so it isn't too tall. And then make an "echo" of the ring a few blocks closer to Scarland (same shape, but fewer blocks and more gaps), in the colors of the Scarland entrance (granite on bottom, oxidized copper on top, sandstone(?) in between, with some randomness thrown in).
At least the way I'm picturing it, asthetically, it should make a great transition between your base and Scar's. And lore-wise... it would look like there's a bit of interference between the Rift's energies and Scarland. :)
This was BY FAR the MOST SATISFYING timelapse EVER aaaah this made my brain feel soooo good!
The way they tell the story and make you laugh is just amazing
I normally don’t laugh at yt videos but I laughed at least 5 times
Docs gonna be MAD
i cannot overstate how much i NEED to see Docs face when he sees this
I don’t usually comment on videos but I just have to say BRAVO for this one. What a great way to bring people together. Also that’s incredible work ❤️
That "did the button die?" had incredible "is the moon big?" energy
Lol
I LITERALLY THOUGHT THIS LMAO
I didn’t get it what do they mean did the button die?
@@ghananshuzalke7405 i assume it's talking about mumbo's best friend crown game?
what button ?
I remember the days when I actually thought that filling the perimeter with chickens was insane
Docs builds never cease to amaze me, that speaker thing for the morning and night was just so simple but insane at the same time.
Also Scarland is just magnificent. Whenever I need inspiration for builds I just watch a few hermitcraft episodes and immediately get so many ideas.
What can Doc do? Famous last words as Doc somehow finds a way to end season 9 just to one up the Buttercups.
Ironic, that in order to defeat Doc, the Buttercups has to do the most grinding they ever had... they became the very thing they swore to destroy.
Doc’s speakerphone announcement thing is so dystopian I love it
Whoever decides to create an animatic of this Buttercup meeting NEEDS to include a shot of Grian ripping the side of a chair clean off to write on with a Sharpie. Lmao
That part killed me... just taking the sign from the chair, just such a Grian thing to do!
Great idea lmao
I had no idea what you were talking about... Until it happened in the video literally two seconds after I saw this comment
@persefida
Doc's voice acting in those messages are genuinely terrifying, he's really good at doing a menacing voice.
15:03 That "Niccce" from Scar. xD
24:12 This reminds me of Ph1lza’s season 2 world where he was trying to build a massive underground witch farm like this right before he died.
Amazing video, the teamwork among all Hermits was amazing and so wholesome!
The Timelapse of you guys covering the perimeter has to be one of the coolest ones yet.
That’s gotta be one of the most satisfying timelapses in hermitcraft history
I love how Grian is blissfully unaware that he is creating a resistance, after he created the "resistance assistance"
Lol i said that the moment the buttercups gpt created
I mean, Grian was was started the war, so technically Doc is the one resisting
He made Doc create a resistance after he blew up Doc’s stuff twice
wait correct me if im wrong but wasnt it the resistance assistance?
@@xxphobia_ I think it is the resistance assistance that assists resisting? I don’t even know at this point
You should add lakes or rivers - It's better looking and harder to remove
Mumbo walking away and jumping off while not saying anything, was the most funny moment of the season!
The sheep is a Zedvancement with Tang where they got a sheep to grow up while in flight, and then never let it touch the ground
i love how chaotically wholesome this comunity is
i was just playing on servers dressed up as hotguy and found two other people dressed as hermits and we instantly became friends lol
Wow, I can't believe you seriously managed to do this. Making natural-looking terrian is super hard.
i just love how when the meeting ended and docs message came out they all collectively went “SHUT UP DOC” and scar said “ok im fully in now” 😂

you could put several floating arches over the bridge? that would look really cool while you walk across to Mumbos base and add to the floating rock formations you have going on. Just a thought lol
Doc voice is fit the villain vibe so damn well, it’s good and scary at the same time
I love you and your dedication guys, cause it's beautiful. I can't believe you actually did it. As a perimeter owner on my own server, this is mildly infuriating. Amazing job though!
Great to see that hole covered up. It gives off this outhouse vibe. Besides goats are suppose to aim for mountains, not holes.
can we just take a moment to appreciate the hermits who helped for no personal gain
The gain is Doc’s reaction
It's really heartwarming because they'll have accomplished a large number of views for grian, scar, mumbo, and ESPECIALLY doc, and for nothing in return! Hermitcraft is the most wholesome Minecraft content 😊
But think about all that they will lose for teaming against Doc. 😂
@@conorseat5963 If enough people stand up against him, he will be powerless.
Doc will regret limiting is motovational speech to only the buttercup when he could have included the whole server 😆
You should put the ring at Cub's museum. He's collecting iconic landmarks of Hermitcraft 9
I know you didn't want the extra work, but I was just imagining the mess that would be made if you put some lakes and rivers in the Perimeter Cover
that timelapse of a grassy hill was beautiful
The fact that all this started with Scar and Grian hitting a note block one too many times is amazing
In this episode, the hermits rise and grind together to make the great goat leader proud
Oh. My. God. I really want to see the look on Doc's face when he gets back. One of the best pranks (irl) id seen was in college when someone removed the door frame, wall-papered over the door , and left the radio going in the room. This is that but a whole community doing it a thousand times larger. The trees were a crowning touch. Hats off, buttercups, a triumph!
Doc loved Grian's "this is doc's world, we just live in it" line so much that he is now using it everywhere. Cant blame him. Its a really scary line lol.

I came back to say this episode helped me cope with doing map art for the first time. I was trying to see how many blocks fit in a 128 x 128 space and it was...not this much but a lot then I remembered what you said, "let me hit you with some numbers" and now it's only 9 13/27 shulkers boxes of blocks!
I love how Mumbo just got dragged into this war somewhere along the line. 😆
“Did the button die?” is giving real big “Mumbo, is the moon big?” energy
You somehow made one of the most repetitive and menial tasks I've ever encountered, placing a quarter million dirt blocks, look beautiful in that timelapse. I'm really impressed with that, just as I am with your idea to build the hills along countour lines.
Genius!
Grians base could be a rock garden of sorts that people could walk through as a sort of leisurely stroll before they go to scarland.
They probably don't realise that the thing that is going to annoy Doc the most about this is not that the perimeter is covered, but how far the ender dragon above Doc's flagpole will have shifted.
Oh my god I didn't even think about that 😂😂
lmao they could have just afk'd there and saved the trouble 😂
The perimeter is chunk loaded so the dragon would have shifted anyway.
@@gristenjust afking there isn't what does it, by my understanding. it's the unloading of it when it's not centered that moves it iirc.
Also that the rates of the farms will go down 😭

Okay, so hear me out, technically the Buttercups are the GOATs now:
Grind- they gathered a Perimeter's amount of dirt
Optimize- they did the maths to gather the dirt as quickly as possible between the three of them
Automate - they had other hermits help do their work to go a little faster
Thrive- the Perimeter is now lush and beautiful now that nature is thriving on top of it
I think it's official... the GOAT has officially been out-GOAT'd
I can't wait for Doc to come back and make all the normal land Perimeter...
I can imagine doc making a massive water flying machine over top of all three of their bases, and overflowing everything with water
the fact that grian basically brainwashed himself to not start a war but procceds to do it anyway makes me laugh
The intrusive thoughts won
I don't think they ever "officially" declared war. Loophole

Not gonna lie... if I were Doc I'd be very tempted to keep the perimeter cover - or most of it - just because the underground perimeter looks incredibly badass. A huge artificial cave.
Horrifically time consuming it may have been, but damn if that aerial timelapse wasn’t one of THE most satisfying things I’ve seen in a good long while
also, the perimeter is actually even more of a feat of minecraft because of how impressive it was to dig out, but THEN to give it a roof is and additional epic feat
What a wonderful way to end a season. This video is your best ever. Thank you for all your hard work to create content. I appreciate it very much and laugh a lot. Thank you. ❤❤❤❤
This reminds me of one of my worldbuild projects that had it's terrain broken by updates, it still isn't finished and its been two years, and I had to go in and do this due to it breaking so badly.
Doc asked if you grinded enough today and Grian said "You know what? No, you're right. I could always do more."
16:40 It's a shame it's easier to destroy than to build
I have watched this entire series and I'm now fully caught up
I predict that the next perimeter machine doc creates will rectify this, but then it’ll just keep going and start blasting away at their bases
The "This is Doc's World we just live in it" has just directly been challenged by half of the server.
